in pain and scared.. please help
So DH & I have not told anyone about BFP yet and I have a severe UTI... I went to CVS last night to get AXO which is ok to take while pregnant. I am in an extreme amount of pain and I know I need an antibiotic, but since its a weekend, I can't get in touch with a dr. My question is... keeping in mind that I'm not sure if I can endure the pain another day - should I contact the emergency line for my OB or go to the hospital?? WWYD? TIA

YES! call the emergency line. This is an emergency. I am not pregnant now but have suffered uti's my whole life that got worse when pregnant. Call the emergency line and they will call you in a rx. Feel better 
eta: take cranberry pills (like Cranactin) everyday to help prevent another one.

Thank u guys so much... how late can I call?? I'm in the car with my inlaws driving home from the yankee game (go figure). We r stuck in traffic and I could cry.

And even if I did get in touch with the dr tonight... we r still at least an hour and a half to home. Can I wait for the morning??? Its not even the pain at this point - I read online that its bad for the LO... it started last night

Call your doctor, you can call the emergency line at any time they will have a service that will page your doctor. They should be able to just call in a script for antibiotics, however, they may actually suggest going to the ER if the pain is extreme. Some offices have emergency only hours on Sunday maybe they could fit you in tomorrow?
Believe me my husband and dad are physicians they both get called at all hours when they are on call. It's their job.

You can always go to a walk-in place. they are open on sundays, and let them know you are preg when they write you the Rx. Many antibiotics are safe to take.

just saw this- glad you and the baby are ok! drink lots of fluids while you are taking the meds and feel better

At the very beginning of my pregnancy I was getting pretty severe UTI's what felt like every week, I started drinking a glass of cranberry juice everyday...and it's certainly been helping. I still have one, but it wasn't as bad...

Why don't you go to a walk in clinc? Most of them are open on sundays. They'll do a culture and be able to prescribe you antibiotics. If you call your dr, I doubt they will be able to do much. They most likely won't call in a prescription for you without seeing you first.
