Emergency / After Hours Animal Clinics on Long Island
Since one of my cats just spent almost the entire weekend in the emergency vet hospital, I thought it might be good to have a reference thread with contact information for various emergency and after-hours vet clinics on Long Island. This way, if someone has an emergency and runs a search here, they will hopefully find several options.
We took our cat to

MONDAY THRU FRIDAY
7 PM In The Evening To 8 AM The Following Morning
Open 24 Hours SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
HOLIDAYS - OPEN 24 HOURS
New Year's Day • Memorial Day • July 4th • Labor Day
Thanksgiving • Christmas • Rosh Hashanah • Yom Kippur
I have to say, they were truly wonderful. Every member of the staff was professional and compassionate. I received detailed records when he was discharged -- a copy for my vet and a copy for me, too. They got on the phone with me every time I called for an update and answered all my questions.
ETA - They take dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals.
If anyone else has clinics to add, please post them here for reference.

Long Island Veterinary Specialists
Atlantic Coast Veterinary 24 Vet in Riverhead
These are the 3 I know about. I have been to Atlantic Coast Veterinary - not for an emergency, but with Zoey for orthopedic surgery - they were awesome.
I took Schultz for a consult with the Veterinary Oncologist last year at LI Vet Specialst and they were also wonderful.

And thanks. He just came home after spending all day today at his regular vet (where he went right after being discharged from the emergency hospital). So far, so good.
