CLE Question for Attorneys
Does anyone know if there are any free or really low cost CLEs? I renewed this year and I have to take 4 family law CLEs in the next week but I wanted to see if I can find free ones or low priced ones. I prefer those to be online but after those four credits I can do any area of law if it is free. I am not transitional, so I don't want live classes unless they are in family or matrimonial law. Thanks!

Re: CLE Question for Attorneys
Some providers offer scholarships or tuition assistance. The Suffolk Academy of Law gives some tuition assistance every year. Some of the recipients will then volunteer for an hour or so helping to check people in at events, etc. They have webcasting and online seminars now, too.

Re: CLE Question for Attorneys
I also had to register this year. Try: clecenter.com. It is all on-line and one of the most reasonably priced packages I found.

Re: CLE Question for Attorneys
There definitely are. I'm not an attorney but our contracts attorney does go to them.
They are usually lower in credits.

It might also pay to give your law school's alum office a call -- they might be able to provide you some info.

Re: CLE Question for Attorneys
I used Lawline.com. You can buy an individual classes or packages. I bought an umlimited pass for a year and was able to complete by CLE's for 2 renewal periods. Worked out really cheap.
If you go to the sight and enter your email, but don't buy anything, in week or so they send you a 25% off coupon to come back and try them. I think my package ended up costing $225 - not bad for 48 credits.

Re: CLE Question for Attorneys
Thank you everyone for the tips! I found 4.5 credits through SCBA which were reasonable.

Also try Touro. I have found them to be very reasonable. They also offer a reduced rate for government/municpal attorneys.

Re: CLE Question for Attorneys
The ABA has CLE online for free. The choices are limited, but I've done a few family law classes that way.
