Re: nook and the library?
You have to download Adobe Digital Editions to your computer. Once you have ADE you can download the book from your cart at the library's website. To get to the ebooks there is a button to click on my library's website front page.
Once the book has been dl'd to ADE, you have to sideload it to the Nook. So you hook the Nook up to your computer via the USB cable, and open ADE. Then drag it from either the All Items tab or the Borrowed tab to your Nook tab on the left hand side. It will be in ADE and on your Nook at the same time.
The Nassau library overdrive system has 14 day rentals and then the license expires and you can't open it in ADE or on your Nook. I also have a NY Public Library card (Manhattan) and a Philadelphia Free Library card ($15 per year for non-residents) and you can keep books from them for up to 21 days. If you finish the book early you can return it by going into ADE and clicking on the book to get a sub menu and Return is one of the options.
Let me know if you have any questions.
