Becoming certified as a Teacher of the Deaf
Hi-
Is anyone a certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing? I am making my lane changes and would like to get some sort of a certification rather than take courses in dribs and drabs.
I am already permanently certified in Special Education pk-12 and Professionally certified in Common Branch 1-6.
I was looking at the Teachh website but wasn't sure if it would be different for me since I am already certified.
TIA

Re: Becoming certified as a Teacher of the Deaf
I just had this conversation with my DH. I am thinking of going to become a teacher of students with visual impairments,...Hunter has the classes. I have to get on the ball and call them!

Re: Becoming certified as a Teacher of the Deaf
Hunter has a great program there. I used to work at St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf and most people went there to get certified...

I'm a teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing!
As far as I know, you need a Masters in Deaf Education in order to be certified to teach the Deaf. I don't think you can get certified without completing the whole degree. But, I can ask my supervisor about it!!
