I am not an expert, but I thought people don't use/need objectives anymore? How about you include what you wrote in your OP in a cover letter?

How about "Objective: To secure a position working in direct patient care"?
Not sure what you would be applying for if that would be appropriate to write.

The advice I received in regarding an objective is to scratch that. Instead put a "personal profile" which is basically a brief description of yourself and your strong points.
There you could touch on your medical background to emphasize that part of your work history.
It's basically like a headline on your resume. If you're interested I'll send you mine so you can get an idea even though we're not in the same fields. Also, do a google search for resumes, personal profiles and medical field, you should get some hits.
