Condensation on windows MOLDY !HELP!
We have this issue with condensation on the inside, not outside of the windows. It's gotten so bad we did not notice until yesterday morning that the windows now have mold growing on them which I know is very bad! Reconstruction and new windows are not an option. What can we do to prevent this from happening?

When condensation is on the windows it's to humid in the house. We have a humidity control on our heat. As far as getting rid of the mold on the windows, bleach the heck out of it.

Re: Condensation on windows MOLDY !HELP!
sounds like you need a bathroom fan. either open the window a crack when you take a shower, leave the door open or install a fan. mold can only grow when you feed it. your feeding it with moisture so do everything you can to prevent moisture around it. make sure your shower heads aren't hitting it directly. clean it weekly if not every few days to keep it at bay. MAKE sure its calked well so none of that mold can get behind it and grow in the walls and seams of the window. sometimes what you can't see is worse!

This used to happen in my old house - the windows were vinyl - you can clean them and put antimicrobial caulking along the windows where the mold was growing. That worked for us. It was very odd in that it only happened on certain windows on one side of the house

Re: Condensation on windows MOLDY !HELP!
The condensation happened over night. DH showered Sat. Night and I showered at my parents. (long story) so the shower wasn't on since Sat. Night. The Condensation formed over night when the temp dropped so drastically last night. And the window is not in the shower but by the sink. We woke up and all the windows were dripping.
I'm going to steal the dehumidifier from my parents and see how that works. The house has no insulation at all so i'm sure this doesn't help!
