Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
she's straight up and down, the worst type of breech.....she said we'll give it time before worrying about scheduling a section, and i know it sounds silly because the prize in the end is all the same, but i have my heart set on a vaginal birth. i hope she turns. her head at last weeks's sono was near my left rib. yesterday (no sono) the doctor felt her head near my right rib so i was joking asking if the doc thought she was making a counter clockwise turn! i already do tons of yoga, but thinking of trying acupuncture. this kid is already p*ssing me off!

i would have asked if she was making a counter clockwise turn too . is acupuncture known to help breech? i've never heard that before, but hey, whatever works!
best of luck, i hope she turns! .

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
I've heard there is very specific yoga moves to do that could potentially help. Have you googled it or tried talking to a prenatal yoga instructor about it? It might even be worth calling a doula and seeing what she suggests, if she's had any success with that before.
Our girl is head down (was at 29 w and again yesterday at almost 31) but the midwife at the practice said not to get too excited because there's still time and room for her to move around. There has to still be time for your little girl to move too! I'm hoping!!!

i do all the yoga stuff already and nothing....cat stretches supposedly get baby in OFP, optimal fetal positioning, as does wide down dogs and child's pose with your chest melted to the mat and hips high. inversions for short periods help, too. i've clearly had no luck! i'm calling an accupuncturist today....i hope your baby stays put! i'm certified in prenatal so i feel like i've fully explored that area....

I'm sure you know what you're doing.
I hope the accupuncturist can help!
I've also heard of doula's manually trying to turn the baby which sounds awfully painful to me.

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
I am a couple of weeks behind you, but the baby is in the same position. I asked my doc about this yesterday and he said there is a good chance the baby can turn up until 34 weeks. After that there is still a shot, but the chances drop off significantly. You still have time!
And my friend just told me that her SIL had the baby flip at 39 weeks - so there is def. still hope!

Honestly, it's still early. I would not panic yet. My DD was breech until 36 weeks. She flipped at exactly 36 weeks. My OB would have been concerned if by 36 weeks she had not flipped.

that's so wonderful it helped you! i know i shouldn't, but i feel like i'm a big letdown or something and that my practice should have at least helped me...yes it has helped me mentally and physically but i was so hoping she would benefit from it, not be all turned around wrong. everyone has been telling me they think i'll have such a great birth and this and that, and now i feel like i haven't accomplished anything. just feeling sad for myself.

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
my ds was breech until 37ish weeks. while i thought i was going into labor from all the pain, it was actually him turning himself down. guess weeks of all the stern conversations finally made him listen
try to stay calm. from what i've read you are doing an amazing job, and remember, doctors aren't always right.

that seems weird to me that hes saying your LO may not turn... is there a specific reason??
DS was breech at 32 weeks also & turned at some point bc when i went into labor at 34 weeks he was head down! you have up until labor for the baby to turn!!

she just said very matter of factly that usually "by now" most babies have turned. she did say there was time and we would give it time, but that i had to be ready for the fact that we might do a c. she tried to make me feel better and i said i wanted a vag birth so badly. she goes, "hey, you wouldn't be missing much!" she said we'd wait and it could change but at 34 weeks we would do a sono and see.

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
My baby was transverse at my last appointment at 30 weeks and my dr. said she could turn but if she didnt I'd have to have a c-section. Here's both our babies figure it out!!!

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
37 weeks tomorrow and I have the same issue...already scheduled my c..if he flips before then I will cancel. Honestly...I did all the yoa things and its not working...he is constantly trying to flip and hurting me so much in the process but there doesnt seem to be room because of the way hes in there (standing up as well). Anyway...I am not gonna mess with it...if God put him that way...I am gonna leave him that way..I dont wanna go thru a long labor where they try to turn him and end up with a c anyway...I think the less tramatic the better...for me...scheduling was the best option. Of course I want to go natural but..as long as hes healthy...the birth makes no difference to me :)

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
My DS was Franks Breech until around 34 weeks. I took a huge cold ice pack and put it at the top of my belly, under my boobs, and DS wound up turning. I don't know how, but it was cold, so he turned away from it.

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
Thanks for all the tips and great feedback.....u guys are wonderful! I spoke to an accupuncturist who works next door to one of my studios. She said she likes to wait until week 34 but there are pressure points we can try. I may do it....we'll see. In the meantime I like the ice pack idea!!! And I'll keep on with my yoga stuff....whatever is meant to be will!!! I know I need to mentally prep for the c as well.

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
dd was breech and my midwife referred me to a doctor who manually turned the baby around ( its called an external version). this was done in a hospital with all sorts of monitors to make sure mom and baby were ok.
it was a success! i wanted nothing to do with a csection,
good luck!

i wouldnt worry at all! i've heard of babies flipping at 38 & 39 weeks!
and if she does schedule a csection, doesnt mean it will happen! its quite easy to cancel a csection

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
I know its hard not to worry because your Dr said it but I think you have plenty of time still. I dont know why Drs say things like this all the time and worry their patients. Sometimes I think they are all C-section happy would just rather schedule a birth instead of letting you go naturally. It really irks me!!! Dont stress everything will workout no matter what the outcome!! Im that your Little girl will flip on her own!!

Re: Doc not super optimistic baby will turn from breech (32 wks)
When I was almost 26 weeks with DS my midwife told me she was starting to get concerned about him being breech. So she had be do this exercise:
Had to take a door off it's hinges and prop it against the couch. Then I had to lay (head towards the ground) at 45 degree angle for 30 minutes every day with ice where his head was (under my right boobie).
Well after just 7 days he flipped! It totally worked.
