Target or JC Pennys for photos...talk to me...

I have appts at both for next week. I have never used either place I usually go to KK - but this year I'm on a very tight budget so I can't do our normal photos. I would rather put the money into the cards themselves.

Talk to me - which is cheaper? Can you get a CD at both places? Cost? What should I expect to spend. I would really like the CD to do the christmas cards - but I only maybe want one good photo of the two girls and then 1 good photo of each girl alone. Are they patient - I have trouble getting the girls to take a photo together so I want somewhere that will work with them. I don't do clothing changes so that isn't an issue - they will wear their Christmas dresses.

I've done Easter pics at Target in Levittown and have been happy.

It's a different experience than KK in that the use all different angles and it's not the same old poses. They took A TON of pics- at least 20+ and they will put them all on a disk for you. There are always good coupons for $3.99 portrait sheets, but the disk is extra...maybe $50 I forget, but I did get it. They have a photo club they will push you to join and that's about $10, but includes getting the pics emailed to you and some future savings.

I have been happy with them and they worked hard to get a good shot of both kids for me...in fact they got a couple.

I always do KK for Christmas, but am not as thrilled with the new ownership...It sounds silly, but I don't like that you can't get 4x6 pics. Target has a 10-14 day wait to get the photos.

I used Target in Queens Center Mall the past two time sand was happy with my pictures but the last time I went we had to wait soooo long and I really didn't like the girl taking teh photos - the one I had teh first time was great with DD and got awesome shots. Thsi girl did the bare minimum but it was just halloween pics so not a big deal. I think Im using Traget for her Christmas pics but I will probably go to the one in Long Island

Here is my 2 cents....I have taken photos at JCPenny and it was average..however, my twins are also a handful and love running around, so it made the event interesting. You can get a CD but I think you have to order a bigger package...It takes about 2 weeks to get your actual photos.

I have also used sears and have been happy. However, the CD is about 140.00

It really depends on the mood of the children and the attitude of the photographer. It can be great or terrible!

But, from what I have heard, people love the value of Target. Look for coupons on the websites!

I've only used JCPenny so far since DS was born last year. and although I live in PA (so i cant speak for NY studios) I LLOOOOVE the JCPenny we go to. The studio is small (one room) but we hardly every wait. they run pretty close to apt. time.

There is one girl there we really like..always gets DS to smile and laugh. We had 2 different girls the last time we were there 2 weeks ago and they were great too.

JCPPortraits.com has coupons you can print. Once you use them, you get coupons in the mail all the time. You can re-order prints through their site pretty easily and I usually get coupons for reprints as well.
For the price we pay after coupons, its very affordable.

They do offer some cd archiving service but its expensive. I think for a smaller fee you can get that day's shoot on CD, but I dont remember.

What you can do is when you get your prints, scan it and save it on your computer, than you can resize it to what you need for your cards.

Overall, i've been super happy with JCPenny.

Thank you!! I think I might give the target in Levittown a try and if that doesn't work try to take them myself at hicks...LOL.

Do you have to join the club to get the pictures emailed to you? Is there a sitting fee? Will they put all the poses on the CD even if you just buy say one pose with the coupon? Is it worth joining the club - are there good discounts?

This is stolen off the website(last year) so the quality is not good but you can get the idea.

I usually go with my Sister in Law to Jcpenney in sunrise mall. Going in a couple of weeks because i received an offer to get 50% off everything but you have to go before 11/18 though. Allways been happy with pics.

Going today to JC Penney in Roosevelt Field...I've used them before and been very happy with them.

I don't know how much the CD cost though...

the cd cost me $150

Here are our pics and I was FLOORED that she was able to get the shots she did because Riley was all over the place.

sorry I posted so many...I could post a lot more too cuz I loved almost all of the shots!

I've never tried the others but Target was great! and a good value too!!!
