Has anyone had any issues with dehydration?

Im 31 weeks and I have been having cramps/braxton hicks for a few days now. Yesterday I had a growth sono and the babies both looked great. When I mentioned my cramps, which have progressively gotten worse, to my doctor she told me to go to labor and delivery just to be monitored. Once they hooked me up to the machine they told me those were't just cramps, I was having regular contractions but not from pre-term labor. The nurse said my cervix is long and closed. It turns out I was very dehydrated so I had to stay for 2 hours to get an IV of fluids. It definitely slowed things down and I was feeling better so they let me go home with strict instructions to increase my water intake.
Today I basically feel like I have a water bottle in my hand at all times and have been drinking as much as I can but I feel almost as bad today as I did yesterday. I am still having contractions and I'm not sure what else I can do about it. I'm not really worried about pre-term labor since I had so many people examine me and say thats definitely not the case. One nurse said that babies have a huge growth spurt from 30-32 weeks (I am 31 weeks) and that maybe the demand is just so high it may be impossible for me to keep up with them.

Did anyone else experience this? Do you think that commuting/working is making it worse? My next doctors appointment isn't until Nov 29th so I dont want to take off work and go see her to be told I just need to drink more. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
