With the recent allegations of abuse at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, and news that after Dec 1st NYC shelters will no longer take lost reports from folks searching for their missing pets; I wanted to share this.

The Facebook page "Lost On Long Island" is a network of animal lovers trying to help reunite owners with their lost pets. Folks can post about pets they've lost or found, or just help be on the lookout for their neighbors' pets. It is not affiliated to any business or organization. It's just a free resource for Long Islanders. You can find it by searching for "Lost On Long Island" on Facebook.
