Showing Early
When did everyone start to show?
I am only 8 weeks, and I am seriously showing. Not I'm paranoid I think I look fat showing, I mean, SHOWING, mini bump, but a bump nonetheless. I thought you don't really show until 3 months...and I'm definitely not having twins lol. I'm concerned I won't be able to hide it for much longer, but at 12 weeks I'll probably be huge and everyone will be like well duh you're pregnant. I'm so tall too so I thought it would distribute more evenly, but no such luck I guess. Is it "normal" to show this early or did I just eat way too many cheeseburgers early on?

Re: Showing Early
By 12 weeks I was only able to wear maternity clothes. Don't worry, let your body do what it's going to do. Embrace the bump!

Re: Showing Early
I was the same way, and by 12 weeks, people were asking. I think alot of it was bloat, but it still makes people wonder, and then of course ASK!

Re: Showing Early
I was in maternity pants by 10 weeks. I think it was 1/2 showing and 1/2 bloat... either way, people were able to tell long before I wanted them to.

Re: Showing Early
The smaller you are to start, the earlier you are going to show. Your body has a lot of adjusting to do for baby!
This is a much harder time of year to hide it (in the summer, I just wore lots and lots of sun dresses which made it so easy). I'm going to suggest layers for now. But just think how much use you'll get out of the maternity clothes if you start now!

Re: Showing Early
I started showing early on as well. I am 13 weeks now and there is no hiding this bump.

Re: Showing Early
This is my first baby and I started showing very early....I was reading that if you are small framed or have "looser" abdominal muscles it is common to start showing earlier. I felt the same way that when I told everyone their response would be "DUH!", but I was shocked at how many people had NO clue!!! Good luck!

Re: Showing Early
I can totally see you showing at this point. When I saw you in person last time, you had a tiny bump then and that was a few weeks ago.
I think most people don't show until a little later than this.... but in your case, you are so lean that any space being made in your uterus is going to show in your stomach area just because you have nothing to hide it with. You are very tall and very thin... so it's likely you would start showing sooner. And not even just bloat... like an actual bump that doesn't go up and down.
My stomach has gotten larger for sure.... but for me it looks more like bloat and fat. I'm at the point where I just look like a ball of fat. You on the other hand probably look more like a pregnant girl. I'm larger then you to begin with so it makes sense.

Re: Showing Early
Oddly enough I was bigger at 8-9 weeks than I am at 18 weeks. I actually lost some bump around week 12. I'm assuming it was bloat since it went away. I'm 18 weeks now and people that know I'm pregnant can tell now, but I would say the vast majority of people that see me on the street probably don't notice.
I think it totally varies from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. I've felt pretty crapy since week 6 and have no appetite which I'm sure effects my weight gain and showing.

Re: Showing Early
At 8 weeks it's usually just alot of bloat. But you're tiny so it's looking big on you!
You might even find that when you hit 12 weeks the bloat goes away for a bit, and then you'll sprout a bump a few weeks later.
I totally thought at 8 weeks I looked HUGE and now when I look at the pic (it's in my album), I'm like

Re: Showing Early
If you are tall and lean I feel like you will show faster. I am pear shaped and at 17 weeks I was barely showing, it looked ilke I gained weight. But my butt was definetly showing that I was preggo. I say try to layer as much as possible. In the summer I was in emprie summer dresses all the time to try to hide it. Now I would go with bulky sweaters.
But I am sure you look fabulous!

Re: Showing Early
I think everyone is different! I always heard that I wouldn't show for awhile since I am a giant; this was true for me as most people couldn't see a bump until I was 23 or 24 weeks. I also naturally have a larger chest (34 D) and am really curvy, so people didn't notice a bump.
One of my friends is the same height/weight as me, and she started showing at 13 weeks. So to each their own bump!

Re: Showing Early
I'm 12 wks and nada.
But I'm a big girl to begin with -- so I don't imagine I'll start really showing for a few more weeks.

Re: Showing Early
I'm glad you posted this because I've been starting to get a little anxious about how much I'm already showing. I know that some of it is bloat...but not all since I have a belly when I wake up in the morning.
I'm very small wasted (I mean...I was, lol) so I guess it makes sense. But i seriously don't know how I'm going to hide this for the next few weeks either. I've also been feeling really sick so I haven't been exercising at all (which I'm sure can't be helping).
Oh, I'm about 9 1/2 weeks.
