When is it time to talk to a Dr?
Hi girls. Feeling kind of bummed today bc AF just started 2 days before our 3 year wedding anniversary. I was really hoping to be able to celebrate with a BFP... But anyway, basic scoop is that we have been TTC for 5 cycles. The first cycle, we were just winging it and I dont think we timed BD correctly at all. We started actively trying after that...Cycles 2 and 3 I used OPKs. Cycle 4 I also started temping/charting, and had a chemical pregnancy that cycle. Cycle 5 I continued with everything, plus took Mucinex and used preseed. I am very confident that I am O'ing and calculating my O date correctly, and we are timing BD during the best days. At what point do you think we should start to worry and maybe see a doctor? I know it can take awhile, but its just discouraging. Thanks for listening.

my dr told me that if you are healthy, then wait a year before seeing a dr for tests.

Re: When is it time to talk to a Dr?
i have heard that if u are under 35 and healthy then go see a dr after a year of trying.
over 35 and healthy then after 6 mths of trying.
i am under 35 and only been trying a few months but found out I have PCOS so I went right to a RE. If you know you have some issues that may make it difficult to conceive you can see a doctor sooner.
good luck!!

Re: When is it time to talk to a Dr?
I think it really depends on you. We're going onto our 6th month now and I'm most likely going back to my gyn to talk about where I am (I met with him 2 cycles ago too). I would talk to your regular gyn first if you have any concerns. For me, I'm concerned I may have endo based on what another doctor told me. If you suspect something is up I wouldn't wait the year.

Re: When is it time to talk to a Dr?
Thanks everyone. I dont really have a reason to think anything is wrong, its just hard when you BD on your fertile days every month with no results. We are both 31 with no known health issues, so I guess we need to just keep trying and hope for the best. Im seeing my doctor in a few weeks for my annual exam/pap so I will mention it to him also and see what he thinks.

Re: When is it time to talk to a Dr?
it goes by age usually.
I think under 35 is 1 year of trying without any success... over 35 years old is 6 months of trying without success.
They ask you these questions when you first meet with them.
ETA: If you think or know of issues you have then I would go sooner for sure!!!
