color for nursery
So we're in the process of redoing our new house...I will not find out the gender until Feb and we are painting all the rooms NOW. DD's room will be ultra gilry like her room now pink, butterflies etc... I need to pick a gender neutral color for the other nursery and just play it up with very gender specific things once we know the sex...so I need suggestions and if you have pics of the room that would be great!!!
We're using BM paint!!!
Thanks!

I'm a fan of green.... if its a girl you can play it up with pink and purple...if its a boy you can use blue and brown...and always white...I have element and mellowed ivory on my walls

Re: color for nursery
We redid our first floor before we knew the sex but just left the babys room primed. We painted all of the moldings and trim white but left the walls primed until we knew the gender. We actually painted the room this past weekend purple and it literally took us 2 hours to paint.
I would suggest doing that if you really dont want to paint it green, yellow or tan.

Re: color for nursery
I like yellow for a neutral bedroom. Something like a pale yellow. I still associate green with a boy.

I second this. My nursery is in my album, and I painted the walls green. We did the room before we even knew what we are having, but we wanted a neutral room anyway. We'll add 'boy' elements to it later.

Re: color for nursery
We're having a girl, but she's having more of a gender-neutral colored room (if that makes sense). The walls are a soft aqua color, and there are punches of orange all over. Her crib is white with a chocolate brown storage drawer, and her glider is chocolate brown. I wish I had a pic to show you, but the room is in a bit of disarray right now (we have boxes everywhere!). If you want something more traditionally girly, aqua always goes beautifully with accents of pink!

Re: color for nursery
We're team and we painted the walls a light green. I agree with pp's, you could always add colors to make it more girly or boyish.

Re: color for nursery
We painted DS's room before we knew gender on purpose. I wanted to be able to use it again as a nursery regardless of gender.
We went with a nice brown. Love it. Although now its his room forever since we are having twins and needed the larger room for them.

Re: color for nursery
Our guest room is Saybrook Sage - a really soft green color. I think it could be accented with pinks/purples for a girl or darker greens/colors for a boy.

Re: color for nursery
we are team and painted the nursery BM Brandy Cream on top and white on bottom (with chair rail). The room is pretty neutral right now with beiges and creams. When comes we'll decorate with gender specific colors.
