Need help-acne treatments that dont dry out your skin?
My acne problem has become horrible-dry skin, red spots, huge zits, yuck. I am currently using Clinique's acne treatment but it has dried my skin so much that it made the breakouts worse. I've used Proactiv before and it doesn't work for me.
any recommendations? I've heard the Clarisonic is good but I don't want to spend $250 on it without trying other things first.

I'd go see a dermatologist. They can prescribe something that won't be drying or tough on your skin.

I agree. The only things that work for me is Finacea and Azelex.

ita. the only thing that worked for me was Benzaclin. Now that I'm PG I can't use it, but of everytihng I've tried, that has been what worked for me.

I just started this acne wash 3 step tx. It dried out my face the 1sy 2 days, so what I do now is use the moisturizer only at night and use an oil free moisturizer in the AM. It has worked really well!!

Re: Need help-acne treatments that dont dry out your skin?
I have sorta oily skin but I've been using this and the acne I used to get rarely hasn't been acting up.
Witchhazel $2.00
and then I use
Baking powder mixed with apple cider vinegar.
If you have acne scars use Bio Oil ($10) at Harmon

Re: Need help-acne treatments that dont dry out your skin?
Hello, I am a Licensed Esthetician and I own a Medi Spa in Huntington.
I have many acne patients and I found that regular Facials, Peels, and Microderms keeps the acne under control and in most cases getting the PH in the skin to return to normal. Try and use organic products free of Parabans. Try to get yourself on a regimen..I know its hard.
Hope you found this helpful
Steph

Re: Need help-acne treatments that dont dry out your skin?
Try not to buy products with alcohol in them that will dry out your skin. It might dry the pimple up for a short time but you are also stripping your skin of the PH which will make you break out again.

Another product that you may want to try out is Noxzema - Triple Clean Anti-Bacterial Cleanser. It has Triclosan in it (anti-bacterial agent), which I found helps clear up breakouts.
ETA: Good luck with everything! I hope it works for you!! I always found Alpha Hydrox products to be underrated considering their value.
