Weight Watchers?

So I think I am finally going to take the plunge & join but I am torn on which to do. I was thinking of just doing the "online" version.

Does anyone do this? What are the pros & cons?

I did the online and was very successful. With 2 little kids, and working full-time, I knew I would never go to the meetings. I think the pros of going to the meeting are the fact that you have the added motivation with others doing the same thing, plus, the fact that you had to get weighed in probably pushes you more. Good luck!

I think if you are going to do the online version, try myfitnesspal.com first. It is free and basically the same exact thing except they use calories rather than points. I heard the new ww is confusing (from these boards.) I just cancelled my online ww subscription after I heard about myfitnesspal.com

Re: Weight Watchers?

I have done the WW online and IMO it was a waste! I was in charge of weighing myself. I just found actually getting myself to the WW center just motivated more.

The new plan took a week of adjustment but is pretty good.

Re: Weight Watchers?

I guess I'm in the minority, but I've been doing very well on the online program. Just lost 10 lbs and have 10 more to go and I'll be back to my pre-baby self! I love it!

I did very well on it also. It just was easier for me than going to meetings.

Re: Weight Watchers?

I have WW online and I love it. I think I'd do better with meetings, but the online is good.

I had previously used mydailyplate and spark people and other free sites like the ones you're mentoning but I never stuck with them. I think the Points system (even the new one) is easier than couting calories AND I'm more likely to to use the WW site since I pay for it, as silly as that may sound. The other ones I just fell off after a few days even though they send emails and stuff. With WW I feel guilty if I don't track because I am paying good $$ for the use of the site. I think psychologicaly that works for me,
