realizing new job is not a great fit

i just started a new job 2 months ago & am realizing its not a great fit.

the person i'm supposed to report to only works part-time so i end up working directly with the director of the department. he's nice but not a great leader, inexperienced in the field, micro-manger type.

i've spoken to my director and what she basically said is, everyone can't stand him but the ceo loves him so there's nothing that can be done. (very encouraging, right?)

so i think the best thing for me to do is start looking again. do i include this current position on my resume?

Yeah, I think I would.

How long were you at your other employers?

I know this is cliche, but in this economy it may take awhile to find a good fit so it's good to leave this on there IMO.

at my previous jobs for several years & a couple of temp/freelance assignments that were a few months.

after talking it over with a few friends in the field i'm going to leave it off for right now. if i'm still searching in a couple more months i can add it on.

i wouldn't. I had a job for 4 months once and then they laid off all of the middle management so only entry level and VPs were left. That isn't on my resume. My resume reads:

job 1 2002 - 2006
(real job 2 where I was let go)
job 2 2007 - 2008
job 3 2008 - present

This way there isn't an obvious gap blaring out at someone to ask about. I don't think it ever came up.

Yes include it. But be prepared to address why you are looking to leave, and keep it positive. Has not offered enough of a challenge, etc.
