Is there any truth to this?
One of my friends who had a miscarriage last year told me her first period post m/c was extremely heavy...almost to the point where you should be concerned. Then she told me that a friend of hers also had the same experience with her first period post m/c. Does anyone know if that's true?

Re: Is there any truth to this?
i hope not.....
this will be my first period off bcps - i got pregnant right after i stopped them so i didn't have a period off them yet...i already know it's going to be more than i am used too since my period while on bpcs was super light - just spotting really...
my doc didn't say anything about it though - she didn't say expect a bad menstruation....she just she wants me to have 3 periods before we try again...

I read this on here. You might have to back track a few months through this board but I def heard you bleed harder then most AFs.
Disclaimer: I wouldnt know...I just read it.

oh great something to look foward to
i was already nervous about getting AF. i was previously on the pill for 8 years but i remember my periods being horrible when i was a teen (headaches and bad cramps). my periods the last 8 years on the pill were so so so light barely there - no symptoms just very light cramping...i already know not to expect it to be anything like that now...ugh and to think my doctor wants me to go through 3 cycles before we can try again

Re: Is there any truth to this?
mine wasn't heavier. i have pretty light periods from what I've gathered from others: 1 very heavy day, 1 medium day and then 2 very light.
I felt that the first period after was a bit more even across the days, a bit more "mucusy" (does that make sense?) but not as thick/clotty.

Re: Is there any truth to this?
Yes, very true.
My first period after M/C and D&C was reallllly heavy. I didnt even wear Tampons.....I wore pads and was changing them very often.
At one point, it did get me paranoid......but I also knew it was normal. By the 3rd day.......it subsided.
