Do I need a special bottle sterilizer? (BTDT moms?)
Or can I sterilize in pot or dishwasher?
I registered for the Dr. Brown's Bottle Sterilizer and didn't get it. Should I buy it or do it the old-fashioned way?

I returned mine, didn't use it. We used the dishwasher and boiled everything else.

The first time we sterilized we boiled and then after that we just put it in the dishwasher and used the sanitizing rinse.

No, just boil the nipples the first time and you're set.

i plan to just use the dishwasher, but i did buy sterlizer pouches to just do some of the bottle pieces/bottles if I want.

I had one, never used it, boiled all my bottles...felt it got it done better that way to be honest and cheaper

Perconally, I think it's not necessary - especially if you're using the dishwasher - But it's a comfort thing -
I boiled the firt time, used the dishwasher mostly - and boiled again ocassionally

i was just thinking this!! While i returned the microvae bottle sterlizer i did get another strilizer that does bottles, pacifiers, breastpump accsserioes and small toys and plan on using that to sterlize the bottles and esp. the small toys!

I had the Dr. Browns one and I hated it. I ended up just boiling the bottles and all of the parts.

I don't have one....
I returned my expensive one unopened and got the $18 microwave one from Target. Boiled everything the first time and then use this every few weeks just to give a good cleaning...

DISHWASHER...I sterilized in boiling water in pot for first use...then dishwasher every time after. DD is almost 6 mos old.
