39w appt--no progress
Doc said I actually regressed a little bit. Argh!
He said he wrote down last time that I was a fingertip dilated (but he told me I wasn't dilated last week, so that was confusing). But today he said there was nothing going on and in fact, the baby's head was slightly higher (but he told me that can change throughout the day). It hurt more today because he had to reach further up.
I know it could still happen at any time, but I was really hoping to hear something was happening!

Oh - sorry to hear. I know how disappointing it is to not hear that you have progressed...especially since we are so close!!!!
With respect to the fingertip - I read that sometimes they say fingertip when there is really nothing going on in terms of dilation. When my doc told me I was fingertip a few weeks back, he phrased it as "you're maybe fingertip - you haven't started dilating yet".
Oh and with the head being low - I can defntely believe that it change thru the day...there are some days I feel like there is so much pressure and the baby is going to fall out, and other times - although it still feels low - it's not AS bad.

It can change so fast, don't lose heart!
We went out to dinner with a friend Sunday who is due the same day as me. She'd had her first internal last week and she had ZERO progress... she's been in labor 18 hours now! Completely spontaneous, just had her epidural about 2 hours ago after 12 hours in labor.
So you just never know!!!!

i know its probably disheartening. I am going to be going through this soon since my appts are weekly now. Don;t worry...that baby will be coming out soon.
