best/worst hospitals to deliver at in Queens or NYC?
I'm leaning towards sticking with my current OBGYN but am open to switching.
What are the better hospitals to deliver in? Any to avoid?

I'm not in the city and don't know a ton about the hospitals, but I had friends/family deliver at NYU and Lenox Hill and they all seemed to love their hospitals. My cousin that delivered at NYU is an ob/gyn specialist and chose to deliver there so I'm assuming it must be pretty good.

where are you going to deliver as of now? i live in Queens but my dr is in manhattan and i'll be delivering at New York Presbyterian.

NY Presbyterian is supposed to be really great. my SIL just delivered there and had a good experience.

A friend of mine delivered at St. Lukes Roosevelt. She had a private room and it was like a hotel suite. She had room service with a menu and everything and said the food was amazing.
I know they paid extra for the room though.
I thought it was a nice hospital when I visited. I know she didn't have any complaints. She'll be delivering there again in a few months.

The NY Presbyterian Hospital system is the best in NY state and one of the top hospitals in the country. You can't go wrong there.
In full disclosure I delivered there  , but I swear that doesn't bias my statement, it's rated this way every year.

LIJ is amazing in my opinion.
I would stay away from Flushing/Queens Hospital Center.
My BFF went to her then ob-gyn affilated with them and she had pre-eclampisa and he didn't pick up in it.
She ended up being rushed to LIJ and was in the hospital for a week.
She obviously changed doctors right away as it was a high risk pregnancy, and she ended up delivering very early.
ETA: This is recent too, as her DS is only 9 months old.

I delivered at Weill Cornell. It has one of the top maternity/pre-natal/neo-natal care units, and it is one of the NY Presbyterian Hospitals.
I loved my nurses and my doctors. They were extrememly attentive and caring. It was like staying at a 5 star hotel. When I picked Weill Cornell I as living in NYC, now I live in Nassau County, but I am going to deliver there again.

Totally biased - I work for Weill Cornell - but everyone I know who has delivered there has had an amazing experience. The nurses are phenomenal.

I wish I could deliver there... No personal experience with maternity, but I have heard it is one of the best.
DS was hospitalized there for a week and a half as a toddler and they were AMAZING.

Queens - LIJ hands down. If for no other reason that its NICU. I never thought I would need it, but I did and they saved Abby's life in delivery as well as in the NICU. It is under major construction and doesnt look as if it has all of the bells and whistles that many other hospitals do, but all you need are good doctors, kick-arse nurses and the technologies.
As far as Manhattan goes, I'd choose Lenox Hill.

I delivered at Beth Israel and I wouldn't recommend it.. at least at the time (4 years ago) the maternity ward was old. The shower was FILTHY dirty and the curtain was filled with black mold and there was a bloody pad on the floor! 
DD was in the NICU and was well cared for.. she was on a different floor than I and I had a c-section and no one helped me get down- I had to hobble down on my own, no wheel chair.
The bathrooms in the hospital were disgusting.. I went in a "public" bathroom on the NICU floor and it was also equally as filthy as the shower.

I'm delivering here! do you remember which dr did your delivery? My gyn doesn't do deliveries anymore ....

cant recommend the best, but I can tell you the worst.
Woodhull hospital in brooklyn... NEVER EVER AGAIN, even if my OB is amazing, not worth it!!

delivered at Lenox Hill and i love love love that hospital..i had a great experience there
my sil gave birth at st lukes roosevelt , the one in midtown, and i saw first hand after a baby is born how horrible they are there. and the nurses were horrible and sooo not helpful to her before and after she gave birth
