Would it be weird if....
I had a container at the wake with little cards for people to write down their favorite memories of my Dad?
He's being transferred to Hospice this week and I am starting to plan.

Not weird at all. A lot of funeral homes actually do this as part of their service.

Not weird at all... our funeral home actually suggested that I have Alex make a card for my father and put it in the casket. I put it in his pocket.
Just another idea to make it a little easier

I think its a wonderful idea
When my brother passed away, he didnt want a wake but my parents needed one so we compromised and included just my immediate family and my brother's faternity brothers who were his best friends/pallbearers.
My father wrote a beautiful letter to God put it in his suit inner pocket.
We had a memorial lunch for him after the mass and we had a table where ppl could write down their memories of my bro for my SIL & his child.

I did this at my DH's memorial service.
I made a big box like a card box at a wedding and left out paper and pens.
In my Eulogy I explained what it was for.
On the anniversary of his death I read them all and cried and laughed.
I've laminated them all and will eventually put them in a book for Logan.
