Update from my 40-week appointment today (xpost from the Jan mommies thread)
Here's my update from my appointment on Monday:
Still pretty much the same as Thursday... 3 cm dilated, 75% effaced, baby is at -1... my doctor can't believe I haven't gone into labor on my own already lol. Due date is Friday and he wanted to induce on Monday, but we want to wait longer to see if I can go naturally. Instead, we're going to go in for a non-stress test Monday instead and take it from there. I'm hoping she decides to come out on her own between now and then.
He wants to induce before 41 weeks, but we'd like to wait until 41 weeks so we'll see what happens Monday.
They've scheduled me for an induction already, but I'm not going to really consider it until we see what happens on Monday at the non-stress test first. I mean, it's in my date book and the hospital has the date written down, but I'm not ready to consider it her birthday. It's all too crazy to me to really wrap my head around.
Other than the fact that I'm somehow not in labor, everything looks great!
I guess I need real labor vibes at this point... I really hope my body knows what to do!

Well, it has only been 4 days since my last appointment lol. DH was off today so we wanted to schedule it for today instead of Thursday this week. No point in him using vacation days now -- we'll need them once she comes!!!

ughh... I know how you feel, I was in the same boat but I had to be induced b/c my BP was pretty elevated at the last non stress test. I wish you the best and hope you can go naturally.

How did the induction go? I've had such great advice from some BTDT mommies on here regarding inductions, but I'm still scared about it. I really want to go drug free, and an induction is already the opposite of that. But I want my baby to be safe more than anything so I just don't know what to do. I have to trust my doctors. I just pray that if they have to induce, it goes quickly and smoothly.
My doctor did say that they would NOT induce me if they thought it would lead to a c-section. I thought that was a curious statement.
