Try sittercity.com. You can post an ad about what you are specifically looking for and people apply to your job. They will supply you with references, prices...etc.

Thanks! How soon in advanced should I start looking? Can this wait until after the baby is born and when I'm on maternity leave?

You can also try care.com. I know this isn't the best time of year, but on a sunny day, go to a local park and talk to the many nannies around - they always have friends or are in the know about who's looking. That was how we found our nanny and I love her!
