clogged ears, any suggestions?

I feel like I am on a plane everyday. My ears are clogged, I can't hear well. My DH says I am talking loud. lol!
When I swallow they pop slightly.
Does anyone have any tricks? This is driving me crazy!

Re: clogged ears, any suggestions?

other than getting a check up to make sure you dont have wax, or infections...

i suggest either mucinex...but that seems to help more for chest as well.... my go to standard is the plain red sudafed. the ones you now have to sign for lol

but if its new and been going on for a bit i would check your ears for sure! gl xo

I feel your pain!!!! I have had chronic otitis media since I was a kid. Allergies, clog up my eustachion tubes. I take Benadryl ( antihistamine)every night, because I cannot take any decongestant like Sudafed. I do take Robitussin too, sometimes. It has Guaifenesin in, just as Musinex does. Over the yrs. I've been told I have to keep my ears "bone dry". I cannot get water in them, or even use ear drops. Also, try to steer clear of mucous producing foods, like milk. (See link at bottom). But not all people are alike; Perhaps you should go to your Dr. or Ear specialist. I would prefer the Specialist. Hope and pray you feel better, because I know how it feels!!!! Chat Icon Mary

Re: clogged ears, any suggestions?

My doctor told me to take advil cold and sinus and use nasal spray (She wrote me a prescription for FloNase).

You can probably find an OTC spray to do the same thing - she said the reason fluid builds up in your ears is sometimes due to sinus congestion.

Feel better!
