Anyone work with animals?
Since rescuing two dogs, I've really become passionate about helping animals. I'd love to get involved in the veterinary field in some capacity, and would eventually like to get liscensed as a vet tech. Any suggestions about how to get started would be appreciated! TIA.

Maybe you can volunteer at a shelter? They usually start you off with cleaning the cages. I know SCCC offers the Vet Tech program, my DD took it at the Brentwood campus.

I don't know where you live, but on occasion I've seen entry-level positions at places like North Shore Animal League. I know the positions are not too desirable---cleaning cages and such---but I would imagine it would be a foot-in-the-door role at least.

Boces (Wilson Tech) in westbury has a veterinary tech program. I don't know if they have it for adults but you can look it up
