Feingold Diet

Anyone's DC on the Feingold Diet? We're starting Cole (well really the whole family for the most part) on Monday. I'd love to chat with anyone who's BTDT or thinking of starting.

We are. Well me and DH. I just do it b/c I dont like to eat that type of stuff. DH had issues as a child and his parents did it w/ him. I will do it w/ dd too. Will post some links for you when I get dd to bed.

Thank you so much! It's funny because Cole's teacher was like, "Wow I haven't heard about Feingold since the 70's" lol

We just watched Food, Inc. recently and have been wanting to go completely organic anyway - eliminating food dyes seems like a natural step.

This is how I grew up eating and how we eat at home. I didn't even know about it, till I just googled.

We are just not into processed prepared foods, which I think is huge source of the "bad" foods. We are pretty picky when it comes to takeout and really lucky to have great variety of resturants where we live.

We have a family friend who's a chemist at Nabisco, he's been warning us about big brand processed food for years. Its legal, but so much of it is just chemicals, who knows what the side effects are.

The chemicals are out of control. Did you know that even cream cheese and sour cream have food dye in them to make them "whiter"? Crazy stuff.

We've been on it a long time. Be sure to join the Feingold Association when you begin so that you are doing it right. The national org. main office is located in Rocky Point! It continues the work of Dr. Feingold. Their website is www.feingold.org
