cerclage????
Has anyone had one done after 24 weeks??? It looks like if Dr Kofinas is going to do one it is going to be around 27 weeks. I have not seen anyone who has had it done that late. I am so worried!

Re: cerclage????
I had mine done at 24 1/2 weeks. Dr. Nguyen did it and although i had a very painful recovery (some people don't feel any pain afterwards), the procedure itself went very well. I was actually starting to funnel as Dr. Nguyen was starting the procedure. Dr. Kofinas was very happy with the way Dr. Nguyen did everything. It held me until 32 weeks when my water broke and that was not due to the cerclage. Once my OB removed the cerclage the day after my water broke to prevent infection, i went into active labor. So had my Dr not taken out the cerclage, it would probably have still held in place.
You are in great hands with Dr. Kofinas and Dr. Nguyen. He would not do the cerclage that late in your pregnancy if he felt it was too risky. I was petrified abut getting the cerclage at 24.5 weeks and everything was fine. The procedure itself is, no joke, 15 minutes. Your in the OR for about 45 minutes because the preparation takes so damn long. Before you know it, it will be over. Good luck!!!!

Re: cerclage????
Both Dr. K and Dr. N put my cerclage in at 26 weeks and I had NO pain afterwards at all. Everything held until my water broke at 36 wks 2 days, I had a C-section (which was planned since baby b was breech) and everyone was healthy and perfect!
You know you are in great hands with them both! Good Luck!
