Permanent Certification
I have my initial certification B-6 early childhood and childhood education.. As well as students with disabilities B-6.
So What exactly do I need to do to get my permanent certification? Or what is the next step?
My initial cert. expires in 2014. I am currently in Grad school, almost done with my masters. I have a full year LR but no mentor.
Help!

For permnanet certification I know you need 3 years full time teaching experience and a year of mentoring.

You cannot get a permanent certification. You have to get a professional one. They no longer have permanent certifications.

Yes, there is no permanent certification. You have to re-apply every five years or the professional and have 175 hours of professional development within those 5 years.

This is why I am SOOOOOOOO happy I fell under the old regulations!! I got my permanent license and I don't have to do a single thing for it now...........no professional development hours and no re-applying. I'm set for life. Thank god too because as a SAHM it would be REALLY hard to get thos professional dev. hours in!!
