Roommates by choice? Anyone's DC ask to share a room?

My boys have been begging to become roommates. We let them sleep in the same room on the weekends. So far.... so good but worried it is a recipe for disaster. For the most part they get along but have their share of moments. We have another Chat Icon coming in July but still have another bedroom so space is not an issue.

DS #1 will be 6 and DS #2 is turning 4 in April. I'm so torn!!

Any advice or words of wisdom?

i would continue as your doing... sleepovers on weekends but during the week they both must sleep in their own rooms.

I agree. I would also alternate whose room they sleep in on the weekends.

I think the 6 year old won't want it in a year or two.

Thanks Ladies. My gut is definitely telling me to keep the arrangement we currently have.

My girls are 3.5 and 2 and have been asking to start sharing a room...we always planned on them sharing a room in the future since we plan to add onto our house and put 2 bigger bedrooms upstairs and figured they would share one of them. I can't wait until they are both in beds so I can let them have sleepovers and start sharing!

Mine are the same age but we gave them the option last month on what they wanted to do and they wanted to stay together. I would let them have the sleepovers on the weekend for longer and see how long them wanting to share a room will last. My husband and BIL shared a room and were 2 years apart and they had another room that they made a playroom. They loved sharing a room growing up.
