Bringing home our puppy in about 2 weeks

We just bought a Shih Tzu puppy and he'll be old enough to bring home in about 2 weeks!!

What do you guys suggest to get before we bring him (his name is Potter...yup after Harry Potter) home?

Here he is...

So adoreable! I want to get a puppy but with TTC I'm not sure a puppy is the best idea right now.

I would say food, treats, bed, toys, wee-wee pads/newspaper, collar, tags, leash, pretty much everything that has already been suggested.

Enjoy your new addition!

Re: Bringing home our puppy in about 2 weeks

We just brought home our puppy in December. Initially, we bought

Crate
Bedding for crate (don't go too expensive in case the pup chews it!)
Stainless steel food/water bowls
Collars / leashes and ID tags for the collars
harness if you want to use it for walking
TOYS - a variety to prevent boredom and LOTS of stuff to chew. We got nylabones, bully sticks, balls, treat / kibble dispensing toys, a rope, a "tire biter" tire, kong, and a few "stuffed" toys
Treats (soft ones are great for training, especially when they are little)

We did NOT get wee wee pads, as we don't use them or newspaper or anything like that in housebreaking. We don't paper train. However, our pup is much larger than yours, which can make a big difference in housebreaking methods.

Good luck!

Don't know where you live but if you need wee wee pads I have a bunch that I will never use. You are welcome to them if we can work it out. I would love to get rid of them. FM me if you are interested.
