Going from 4 to 3 bottles?

at what age did this happen?
DD is 7.5 months and I feel like she would take more at her bottle feeding if we dropped we maybe went from 4 to 3 bottles but not sure if it is way too early to do this. DD is not the best eater!

When DS dropped his 2nd nap of the day, that is when he dropped the 4th bottle. He did that around age 1. But he was only drinking 6 ounces per bottle. They still need 20-24 ounces of formula at that age. If you can increase the amount of formula in each bottle then you can eventually take one out..

DS is 8.5 and we still can't get rid of the 4th bottle. I have tried and it always turns into a disaster.

DD barely takes 20 ounces now. Her highest she ever hit was 23 ounces but once we started food she averages about 16-18 ounces a day Have I stated she is a horrible eater
I bring this up every doctors appointment but as long as she is gaining weight (which she is thank god) that is all they seem to care about

Our pedi said 20 ounces was good...I made DS 6 ounce bottles and some times he drank the whole thing and other times only 4-5 ounces. He was a peanut weight wise, but was gaining. That's all the dr's cared about..Even his GI was fine with that. It may take a while for her to drop the 4th bottle, but that is fine. DS will still take a 4th bottle once in a while...He is picky with what he eats now at 15 months..As long as she is eating and gaining weight, I think she is fine!

yikes...what flow nipple is she on? Or is she just too busy to want to sit still and drink it! DS was like that. I had to hold him to get him to finish a bottle.

Don't feel horrible..DS is 15 months old and stopped eating table food in November. Some days he won't even eat baby food. I get so frustrated. I feel the same way about having to feed him some days. I dread the days where he won't eat anything.. She may have a small stomach. It will get better. Maybe try and put her in a pack and play or her high chair when she is drinking it...In the morning, I have to put DS in his crib so he will finish his bottle!!!

Maybe if you change up the food you are giving her? DS has been taking 3 bottles since 7 months..but sometimes when he was being picky with the food I would still give him that 4th bottle. Have you tried yogurt?

DS went from 4 to 3 bottles when he was about 7m. I just couldn't take it anymore. He would fight me on every single bottle. (6oz bottles). I gave up. So now he gets 2 7oz bottles ( 9am, 2pm) and an 8oz (7pm). I am lucky if I get 6oz in him at each feeding. He is all over the place. Does not want to sit still for a second. (He is 8M). We cannot have the TV on at all...way too distracting, and it helps if whoever is giving him the bottle is in a quiet area of the house. He also likes to take a break....for about 15 mins about 2-3 oz into the bottle to eat his feet or just babble. I too sometimes dread bottle time myself. The only save in grace is that for the most part, and I say that in the moment , he is a fairly good eater. He just went for his 8M visit and the dr is thrilled with his progress. Hang in there!
