How to Transfer Hospitals?
My mom is in the hospital with a herniated disk. She is in a lot of pain, but wants to transfer hospitals before she has surgery.
Her plan is to keep increasing her pain medicine until she can be discharged then to go home for a day and then go to the other hospital for care/surgery.
This seems silly to me since as it is taking so long for them to gradually increase the pain medicine. Which is just pushing the surgery back which could alleviate the pain immediately.
Can she just call the doctor that was recommended to her in the new hospital and arrange a transfer????
If anyone has any advice about ANYTHING please let me know. I have no idea how to help my mom

Her new doc should make the arrangements for the transfer. Call them and tell them you want her transferred. Push the issue because it can take a while.
