What do you take other than tums?
I took pepcid AC with my first and I didnt feel it helped.
I thought I was safe this time but last night was TERRIBLE and I had to sleep sitting up.
I know some people take zantac or prilosec. Can you share dosages etc that your drs said was safe?
I dont want to call the emergency line but I almost threw up twice in the last hour from the acid.

I believe what I take is Zantac 75.
It's been a life saver cause with both pregnancies the heartburn is just unbearable. sometimes it wakes me up during the night and I feel like i'm dying

i take zantac 75mg twice a day and it definitely helps a ton! i still have to have tums a few times a day on certain days but the zantac has definitely decrease the amount of tums i take and seems to hold off heartburn when i take it first thing in the morning until about 3pm

I'm in heartburn hell with you. Basically posted the same thing the other day. The Pepcid has helped with the burning but not 100%. I'm still taking Tums but often have to sleep practically sitting up. Before the Pepcid I was basically throwing up every single day (I am around 33 wks.) I may try the Zantac, seems to work for a lot of people. Milk just makes me puke! Ugh, heartburn, it's the worst! Hope you get some relief.

I agree. My mom gets bad heartburn and says almonds really help her. I read that celery gets rid of heartburn, too.

I've been taking maximum strength Pepcid which is ok so far (only 12 weeks though!). With DS I ended up on prescription strength Nexium, I couldn't sleep without sitting up- it was bad.

My dr okayed Pepcid, but I couldn't find it and bought Walgreens Complete Heartburn Relief. When I showed it to him, he said it was also okay. It's the only thing that has helped me.

I take something called Calmacid - its put out by Melaluca. It works instantly !
