Ditto. I remember I read it on our HM, and I stayed up until like 3 AM to finish it. And DH woke up when I had about 5 pages left and just saw how annoyed I was and asked what was wrong. I was just like "If this is how they are gonna end this book, I'm gonna be really pizzed off!!!" And they did, and I was. I don't know what else I wanted to happen? I just felt like they were still being punished by being banished to their district. I mean at least they were together, but still. I know they couldn't have made Katniss their leader or anything, but I wanted something more, something better for her and Peeta.
ETA: We can't say pizzed off?

ETAA: DH never actually finished the book and he rolled his eyes when I described the ending to him- except for the part about Prim. He was like WHAT?! NO!

What is so ironic is that this whole journey for katniss started because she just wanted to protect Prim, all for it to be for nothing at the end. What about gail, do you think he knew that she would be there when the bomb went off?

I still feel like Katniss wasnt happy at the end, my heart just broke for her. I know she often mentioned that she didnt want to ever have kids because she didnt want to face them going into the Hunger games, so its great that the capitol is done, but still. I agree that it seem like they are still being punished somehow.

I dont know if I hate her mom or not...

Gail was so far gone by the end that I think it wouldn't have mattered. Part of me hopes he didn't know- I mean he helped raise her! But by that point I think his brain was telling him to sacrifice a few for the good of the many.

Snow was a disgusting human being. I wanted her to kill him so badly, too. But she definitely did the right thing killing Coin. She had to go. Did they say who they made President? I completely forget, it's been awhile since I read these. And I definitely felt like Katniss wasn't happy at the end. I just wanted something better for her, for Peeta, even for Haymitch!

Her mom was the problem from the word go. They might have never ended up in the Hunger Games if the mother was able to provide for her children. I mean I couldn't even imagine what the death of a spouse would do to a person in the best of conditions, but this is when you have to be strong for your kids.

I am forgetting who was made president too...but I was glad she killed Coin and the way she did it was so cool and unexpected!

Her mom just completely abandoned her when her dad died. Im sure she was devistated when prim died but she still has another daughter who needed her.

I heard the movie is coming out in 2013, I cant wait!!

Overall though i though the series was great...with lots of surprises and suspense.

Definitely- I was SO glad when Coin got hers.

I'm definitely a big Katniss fan. I hope the movie does it justice!
