Holding them too much?

We have OOT family visiting us almost every weekend. They obviously don't see the kids often so they constantly want to hold them.
I am so worried they are going to get used to being held and I am going to be doomed when Im alone. I want to tell them not to hold them so much but I don't want to come off bad.

They are only 6 weeks now...when do you think I should be saying something so they don't get used to being held so much!

thanks!

At that age there's no way they could spoiled yet. Most "people" will tell you it's not until about 6 months that you would have to be concerned about that stuff. Until then, they just need to know that they are safe and secure with you. Chat Icon

I agree with Candice. And let me tell you, I was very very careful to not spoiling the babies and I have one of the needy ones now.

Nah, they are too young to be spoiled. I would say at about 5 months, I started to see a difference in Reese and Colton when my parents left after visits. It usually takes them a day or two to get back on track.

Re: Holding them too much?

they are too little i would say about 3 months lessen the holding time like you said you dont want to be doomed when you are alone. my girls loved thier bouncy chairs and really werent held much and were content being in them or their swings.

thanks girls...I will let it go until about 3 months and then I will speak up if I have to. Right now with me they love their bouncy seats or even just laying on the playmat on the floor. Chat Icon
