tachycardia?
I went to the dr. on Friday because I had a sinus infection and strep, and when she was checking my blood pressure she noticed my heart was racing, so she ending up doing a EKG in the office and my pulse was 124, so she had me come in today to do a repeat EKG to see if it was just because I was sick, today it was down a little to 112. Now she wants me to get an echocardiogram and make and appt with a cardiologist and do a stress test. Now I am completely FREAKING out, since I never had problems before...I do have undiagnosed anxiety, and I can feel my heart rate go up when I walk into the dr. office, but she doesn't think it's just anxiety...

Re: tachycardia?
Don't worry too much. Whenever I go to the doctor they always comment about my heartrate. When I am sick or stressed at all my heart rate is always around 110-130.. Had ECG and all that jazz and it ended up being anxiety related. Better to just get it checked out so you don't worry about it more!

Re: tachycardia?
I have it! I went through a ton of tests and EKG's, etc. I wore a heart monitor for 24 hours and nothing else came about! Just a good precautionary measure.

Re: tachycardia?
There are different froms of tachycardia and different reasons for it. You will know more after your echocardiogram. I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia. It's rather benign but I do feel it when my heartrate randomly goes up. I recently weaned off a medication I was taking for it. I get symptoms but my doctor feels that it is safe for me to go off the meds. It was very extreme when I was pregnant. With my form of tachycardia there is nothing structurally wrong with my heart and that is a great thing. It's either a problem in the sinus node or a brain signal issue.
