Late Summer Birthdays and Parties

DD will be 5 at the end of August. Of course she is going to want a birthday party.

We have been going to birthday parties all year (she goes to f/t Prek). However, most of those kids we don't see outside of school. And there aren't any that will be with her next year in KG.

So what should I do about a birthday party? Do I send out invites in mid-June before school ends? Do I wait until Sept and invite her new class so I can meet some new moms?

i like the idea of waiting until september and invited her KG class.

my youngest is a early september birthday... i think i will end up doing this when she gets older

My DD bday is in June and I am really debating having a class party this year because not one kid will be going to her K next year so once her bday is over she probably wont see any of those kids again..minus one girl because I am friendly with her Mom. Last yr we invited all of the girls from her class because a lot were going to be in this years class. This year it almost seems silly to me and I was contemplating having a bigger extended family party instead with my cousins kids and my close friends with their kiddies that my DD plays with outside of school. I dunno..Im on the fence, Your DDs bday is later in the summer that you could definately wait til Sept. though...

My DD's brithday is in early June before School ends so we are having a party with her prek friends even though she won't see any of them again. She has gone to many of theirs - and since this is her first kid party I want her to be able to invite her class. If it is after school is over then I would just invite whoever you or she wants or wait until Sept if you want to meet the moms

I am having the SAME issue. Bella is in K and her birthday is the first day of school! I wasn't sure if I should have it in August and invite everyone from her K class OR wait until school started and invite everyone from her 1st grade class....I think we are waiting too.

PS...when Bella transitioned from Pre-k to K, we held off on the class party for the year and just had a family BBQ.

Hmm...DD's birthday is right before school starts Sept 4th), and I never even gave this any thought. I just assumed I would invite the kids from pre-k because we have gone to so many of their parties throughout the year. Now, I don't know

both my kids are summer babies (July & Aug)

i would invite those in her class whose parties she went to, and then invite her friends that are outside of pre-k

that is what i plan on doing if i have a party for my DS...
