GEtting rid of the gut, how??

How do you get rid of your gut? I cannot do any cardio as my foot is in a boot for 6 weeks.

Are sit ups effective? how many?

Thanks so muchChat Icon

What did you do!?!? Chat Icon

Unfortunately you have to do the cardio Chat Icon along with the sit ups.

If you just do sit ups, whatever "fat" you have on top of the muscle will just stay there, you will just end up building your abs underneath it all.

You need to do cardio to blast the fat.

I hope you heal quickly!!

How is your diet?

Unfortunately, cardio is the only real gut buster.

I hope you're up and around ASAP!

I agree, you need the cardio. However, if you can't do that, maybe try pilates? You might not be able to do all the moves, but a good amount of them. That definitely works your core!! I have the Mari Winsor series with the accelerator.

I like the Winsor Pilates DVDs. They are similar to some of the classes I have taken- I highly recommend doing the instructional DVD explaining how to do each move first. She gives modifications for experience levels and back problems etc. The book the pilates Body is also good. It gives really clear directions on how to do each exercise.

Thank your MrsG - so helpful. I have always wanted to get into Pilates so maybe this is a blessing in disguise - you have to look at the bright side somethings - thanks a lot.Chat Icon

Your Welcome!! I actually started doing pilates after my orthopedic surgeon recommended it- I have a lot of damage to my left knee and had to give up running.

Whenever you do pilates/cardio, make sure to pull your navel in (instead of letting your stomach bulge out)---You need to keep your core muscles engaged during workouts to see results.

Ah yes, pull your belly button into your spine (in the words of Mari Winsor) Chat Icon
