Transition to Convertible carseats....

its about that time. This I dreaded.

I can NO LONGER lift the infant seat easily and I swear I feel a twinge or pain afterwards.

so, how do yo do it....getting them in the car, out of car?

-from house to car, car to house.

I make trips as it is so I cant imagine it being that much harder right?

Daycare in am I guess just one at a time?

Re: Transition to Convertible carseats....

i hated making that switch! especially in the winter, it was the absolute worst time to do it
so at least it will hopefully start getting warmer!

i have to make 2 trips.. i make sure i have the other baby ready .. so when i put one in the carseat, i run back and get the other . its like a game i swear Chat Icon

when i am alone and go to stores i bring the stroller to one side.. then to the other . thats not too bad.. again when its freezing out thats when it was horrible!! i just wanted to get inside!

but i do feel that they are more comfy in the convertible seats! so thats a plus!

i swear i make 4 trips most days in and out of the car. i hated changing them out of the infant seat. i wanted to cry! LOL but you will get used to it.

usually i take all my bags and stuff out first while they are all playing.

Dominic will walk to the car while I carry one baby..... have him get in his seat while I went back for #2.
Or more often I would hit the button from the house to open the door and carry them both. Put DS on the floor of the minivan right in front of me while I put DD in her seat then go around and put him in.

Now that they are walking its a whole new ballgame again!! LOL They can't be left alone in the house so I will either carry both of them or carry one and have one walk while holding my hand. Its always a project getting out to the car!!! Chat Icon

It's not too bad! You see me doing it all the time! It is better when you have help but it is doable on your own, just takes much longer and lots more trips from the house to the car.

For daycare - I watched one of the dad's of twins do it - he has a very narrow double stroller so he uses it to bring both kids in at once.

i live on the second floor, so usually what i do is bring one baby down and give her to my MIL to hold. then i go up and get the other one, put her in the car then run back and grab the other one. when i come home same thing only backwards. ....the way i go up and down stairs i should be a size 2!!!!!!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
