How concerned are you with prescription side effects
I am about to start a new medication and there is a laundry list of possible side effects and then possible serious (and sometimes fatal it says) side effects.
I have a history of anxiety and reading all of this makes me so anxious to start a medication.
BTW - Its pregesterone , I am pregnant and my hormones were a little low. I think its just because I am really really early. I am considering not taking it and just asking my Dr if they can repeat my steroid levels every couple of days, but I feel like they might at me. Am I being dramatic?

Re: How concerned are you with prescription side effects
I read all the side effects and then stress like crazy. Then I try to remind myself that basically every med lists every single side effect u can think of--mainly if one person maybe had that reaction. Try not to let it get to you, and if g-d forbid u did experience a bad effect u can just stop taking the meds or talk with ur dr

Re: How concerned are you with prescription side effects
All medications have side effects. If you look up sugar pills that are often used as placebos they too have side effects. I would not make the decision not to take it without talking to your doctor. Low progesterone levels early in pregnancy are correlated with miscarriage. I think you are taking a greater risk by not taking it. JMO.

Re: How concerned are you with prescription side effects
I was put on it with both my pregnancies. I also have clotting issues which means I am supposed to stay away from all the synthetic hormones. But without it my body might not have been able to sustain the pregnancies. I was not willing to risk a m/c for children I had to try so hard to conceive. I think you should call your ob and discuss the necessity of it. And then choose what is right for you. Personally I was willing to risk the clot and other s/e's but that was a choice i had to make for myself.

Re: How concerned are you with prescription side effects
I'm very concerned. That said, if it is something that you really need and the consequences of not taking it outweigh the hypothetical risks I wouldn't think twice. I am currently taking antibiotics and steroids both with a whole list of not good side effects but, I don't really feel I have a choice.

Re: How concerned are you with prescription side effects
I used to feel the same way.. however.. with going through infertility I learned you just CANNOT look into every possible side effect of every single drug or you would just decide never to have a baby
That said .. I have taken progesterone many times and have been totally fine!
