If you own a treadmill, where did you put it?
If you own a treadmill, and have kid(s), where did you put it? I have a toddler, and I'm afraid of the injury risks with him around it, so I'd like to move it out of our den which is his playroom too.
Was thinking our bedroom, but it might get cramped, which is ok, and ther is a tv in there. Then i saw some peeps have it on their porches and garages. But i wonder how safe the open air is to the moving parts. I don't have a basement and my attic it too short.
Any ideas?

It is in our bedroom. I don't like it there b/c it takes up space but, if we put it in the basement we would never use it.

We have a family room in the back that goes to the backyard....I have the treadmill and bike in there. DD1 is now 5 and knows that when mommy or daddy is on it that she has to stay by the couch.
DD2 is only 8 months so I dont have to worry yet.
Before we moved to LI we had our treadmill in the living room and DD1 knew that if we were using the treadmill that she was not to go past her 'army'....I would line up her stuffed animals and she wasnt allowed to go past them. I also had the treadmill angled so that I could see her coming...if she were to get close I could pull the emergency key to stop the belt from moving and prevent an injury.

It is in the basement. we have a gate up to prevent the kids from running around.

Ours is in our basement but the kids run around while I am on it. The first couple of times I had to tell them to stay away but now they know to stay away from it while its on. DS is 3 & DD is 2 and I've been doing it without the gates up (blocking them from it) since DD was about 18 months. They watch a movie while I'm running.
