"Unlocking" libary books for Kindle?
Has anyone ever tried this? I know that traditionally Kindle does not support library books, but more and more I've been hearing about people "unlocking" the device to be able to read them.
I found this article and was wondering if anyone had any success with it.

Posting on here is about as computer savvy as I get. That article may as well have been in Sanskrit.
I don't have a Kindle yet anyway, I've been mulling it over. I really prefer it to the other e-readers out there, but I like the benefit of getting books from the library.

Like they say in the article, it doesn't even do EPUB format, which is what most of the libraries use, so all of that hacking might not even get you what you want.
I have a Nook, so it doesn't affect me, but I'm not sure how worth it it is for most people.
There's a Windows app for reading EPUB books, and the Kindle can browse the web, so I'm surprised nobody's bothered to link those two items together.
Create a webpage that displays EPUB documents on a PC.....
(Not that *I* can do that right now, but I wouldn't think it would be that difficult. I probably *could* do it if I really wanted to, but I don't have any reason to.)

the old kindles do not have net browsing and the new ones only have experimental. Its good for googling, checking email and say like wikiepedia but not browsing in general like you would with the nook. Its sloooooooow too and it looks like an etch a sketch.
