Just need to vent
Hi everyone,
I feel like this is the only place I can vent because you all are animal lovers.
DH and I are looking to buy an apartment in queens. We can only afford a coop. We've been looking for about 2 months right now and I know the process is slow. We've been having some issues finding a place because of our dog Casey. Shes a large (68lbs) pit bull. We keep running into the same rules of 40lbs or smaller and when one of the buildings was considering a larger dog, they said no because she was a pit bull.
I wish people would give her a chance and see that she is the sweetest dog. She is one of the most popular dog in our rental building and people around the neighborhood love her.
I would stay in my rental apartment but DH hates the neighborhood where we live.
Well thanks for letting me vent.

I am so sorry. That must be really tough. I can imagine you may keep running into this issue based simply on size and plain ignorance.

Aw! I'm sorry you're having such a tough time!!
I know what you're going - 9 years ago when I was looking I had a 120lb Lab and a 95 lb German Shepard... no one wanted a large dog, none the less two.. I ended up having to buy a Condo vs a Co-op for that reason.
I hope you find something soon!!

im so sorry i see this all the time on the pit bull forum im on. its soo sad. i would keep looking intill you find something. i would never be able to move without my dog.
I hate the wrap they get, whenever i walk Kane ( hes a pit ) everyone is soo shocked that he is and how good he is. THEY ARE ALL GOOD DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its the owners not the dogs and it gets me soo angry. these dogs are only doing what they are taught and only trying to please us. sorrry for my rant, i just get soo angry about this.

i'm so sorry you're have a hard time.
i LOVE pit bulls and wanted to get one but we don't have the space for a big dog right now. i hope you find a place soon!
