tutor time moms
Talk to me. Tell me how it really is. Have you ever heard of any problems? Do you love it? Where do you go?
I am thinking of putting DD into TT, but I am concerned about how much she will get sick. She could really use the socialization aspect of day care but i am just so torn on whether to stick with a nanny or do day care.

No Linda... you're wrong. TT only carries the germs!
Yes, no matter what daycare they go to they'll get sick. I also heard that by the time they're school age they'll never take a sick day... we'll see about that one. Mason doesn't go to a TT, but they are individually owned. Daycare is really a great thing. He's learned so much and tons of activities... story time, art, music, dance, learning, snack, lunch, nap, etc. Mason naps better in school than at home. While there are a lot of negatives there's more positives IMO. Just do a lot of research on the schools b4 picking one.

Re: tutor time moms
I use Tutor Time in Holbrook. I can not say enough good about that center, the teachers in the infant room, the directors. I wouldn't change a thing about our experience so far there. Clean, immaculate, on top of EVERYTHING, safe, caring, loving...
DD was there since she was 8 weeks old.
Each center is different though- and so much depends on the staff.
As far as getting sick- she was only sick once in her 9 months- with an ear infection. Kids are going to get sick/not get sick no matter what IMO

DS goes to the one in Holbrook. I love, love, love them. The teachers are great and my son has learned so much. He did get sick at times, but lately he's been doing well. He's 2.

Re: tutor time moms
My kids are at one in Brooklyn. I switched recently from another day care and I'm very happy with the change. My DD is really benefitting from the structure. She had already learned the basics (alphabet and numbers 1-20) but now she's learning math and spelling whole words (she's 3). It's great.
My kids have been sick all winter... but this is to be expected. My DS is only 9 months old and he got sick within a month of starting day care - which was my previous day care back in September. I expected it since my DD was the same when she started day care.
If they're going to be around other kids day in and day out, they're going to get sick. It's inevitable.

Sean is @ TT - since he's 8 months old (he'l be 2 in a few weeks) He loves it - goes 3x a week from 6:45 - 6:00
All of the teachers have been great, I have never had a complaint about staff. It's very clean, the kids are all happy, I've never heard anyone complain -

Re: tutor time moms
DD is at the West Islip TT. I cannot say enough good things about it. Her teachers are fantastic, and she is doing so many activities that I probably would never do with her at home (she was fingerpainting on her first day...only 3 1/2 months old). LOVE TT!!!

This melted my heart too! She was doing art projects with her foot at 8 weeks old!

Re: tutor time moms
They are all independently owned, so you might get different answers. I love ours and am very happy with my decision to put him there.
About being sick - the first winter was BAD. He was probably sick every other week. Second winter, not so bad, but he did get sick often. This was our third winter and he didn't miss any days for being sick. He only got sick twice and both times it was a one day thing on the weekend. I am hoping now he has SUPER immunity and Kindergarten and elementary school will be a breeze.

we LOVE it! DS LOVES it! His teachers are amazing and he has learned so much and has become a very social child
but
the sickness there is nothing you can do about it, no matter where you send your child.
