Question for Tutor Time moms, desperately need info..

Hi All,

I'm due in October and will only be able to take 6 weeks off from work.

My mom was going to stop working to watch our baby and although we were going to pay her, it wasn't a lot ($200).

But today, my dad was offered a retirement option and he'll stop working August 1st. It's not a great offer but he has to take it as he could be laid off anytime.

So, now that dad won't be working, mom can't afford to stop working.

We have a tutor time 2 minutes away from our house so I need to know if we can even possibly afford it.

How much (ballpark) is Tutor Time for infants? And do they do part time for infants (and if so, how much is it?) Part time would be a great solution I think.

I was so happy my mom was going to watch him, I'm crushed and not sure what we'll do.

Thanks for any info Chat Icon

I do not know about Tutor Time, but *most* daycares do not take infants part time as they cannot share cribsChat Icon

TT in East Meadow does not do PT infant. A lot of places do not do PT for infants.

ETA: It was $290 per week (last year's rate).

our DD attends tutor time and we LOVE it. ballpark the infants (6 wks and up) are about $280 a week. Really depends on your hours so I would go in for a tour. We love the facility!(medford) and the director is actually a neighbor of ours. I had heard some mixed reviews about tutor times in general but from experience we have had a great experience. It is very clean, organized and friendly atmosphere and DD has NEVER had a rash or irritation from not enough diaper changes..HTH! FM if you have more questions! I hated the idea of daycare also as this is our first child but I am so comfortable with them watching her! They wil not take infants PT though because each baby has their own crib and they won't share cribs ( you can understand that) I wouldnt want my DD in a crib someone else slept in either. Give htem a call!

Which tutor time are you looking at? The prices vary from facility to facility. My DD attends a tutor time and when she was an infant it was $280/week. Feel free to fm me for more info. Our facility would do part time.

ETA: each child has their own crib

My DS son attends TT. At the TT we go to they did have PT. I believe the PT price was $250/wk.

I think the PT thing depends on the center. I know the one in Smithtown, at least when I was looking didnt take infants PT bc they dont share cribs. Do you have a KinderCare nearby, thats where DS goes and they take infants PT. DS was $207 for 2 days a week as an infant and is now $197 as a toddler.

The one by me in West Islip does not have part time until 18 months. It is about $1200 a month.
