What programs are your children in?
I posted a while ago about my niece who is diagnosed with PDD who is in a day treatment center. I don't think this setting is appropriate, but I don't know what other programs are out there for kids with PDD. Please help. What programs are your children enrolled in? Are they in a special ed classroom with related services or are there specific programs available to children like my niece?
TIA
ETA: she is 9 years old.

Does she live on Long Island? What school district?
There are inclusion classes, self contained classes, etc. It entirely depends on whether her district has a setting to accomodate her. Her mother would need to request a meeting with the district to discuss her options. Each district is different.

She lives in Queens. I was just trying to get an idea of what kinds of programs are out there. I'm not sure her mother should stir the pot and get her moved unless we know there's a better place for her then where she is now.

It's not stirring the pot to ask about other placements. By law they have to tell you what kind of classes they have, in which buildings they are, and the classification (not names) of the children in the class. Every district is vastly different, so it's best to contact them and go from there.
I personally wouldn't be okay with my child in a day treatment center (unless there was a severe behavioral issue). I would want my child in a school setting in the most least restrictive environment he/she could handle.
