girl only question guys need not reply sorry TMI question **update**
how old where you ladies when you started to see an ob/gyn? My daughter is now 16 and af has shown her UGLY self 3 times in about of a month and a half. I myself have had serious problems with my friend to the point i ended up having a hysterectomy at the age of 22.
Should I bring her just to be on the safe side.
ps. non sexual and YES I KNOW FOR A FACT.
Sorry for the TMI
Update.
Well starting her next cycle gulp she will start the pill. Also because of my history he said when she is ready or shall I say when I am ready we can do a scope on her to check the insides and make sure she is not a mini me that way. I think I will hold off another year or so on that.
Thanks for all the support. I dont know if I am ready for this!!!

Given your history I would bring her. Ask her if she would be more comfortable with a male or female doctor. I hope she is okay.

I would bring her for sure. I was 18 but I had no issues.
Some young girls experience irregular periods when they first get it. Since you have a history you should definitely bring her.
I went to a female doc first and hated her and ended up loving my male doc.

Re: girl only question guys need not reply sorry TMI question
I made the appointment. without giving to much info she has had problems before. I am taking her to my dr. who is a male. He saved my life . Not to mention anyone who I have refried to him , i have gotten glowing review back. The only other dr. i would bring her to is also a male, needless to say he was their when she was born. The only 2 dr.s I TRULY WILL EVER TRUST

I started going to the obgyn at 16 (I hadn't gotten my period yet) and he was a male. I'm sure she will be fine and its good to get her started out early.

I was 18 but everyone is different and what's right for one person is different for another. I think it sounds like your daughter could benefit from a visit.

This is what I am worries about. I mean I know it will help her. But it is nerve recking thinking about it. It's 2 am in the morning and I can't sleep. Ugh wish me luck tomorrow or should I say today.

Re: girl only question guys need not reply sorry TMI question
I was 14 when I started going... I was missing periods and then bleeding for long, long periods of time... with lots of pian.,...
wound up being diagnosed with endometriosis but not til age 18. 4 years of excruciating pain.
Definitely take her. It can't hurt. Espcially if she has a family history (through you) of irregularity.

Re: girl only question guys need not reply sorry TMI question
I didnt go until i was 20..i wasnt having sex until then and for the most part the problems i was having with my period my mother insisted was normal...you know...b/c she had problems no one could help her with she felt that it was normal.
I would say if she's having issues now, bring her just to be safe. but i remember having very irregular periods at 16...spotting during the month, long cycles, etc.

My Mom took me when I was 15 - I was having very very heavy periods and bad pain.
I hope the doctor appointment goes well for your DD.

It sounds like you should take her.
I didn't go for the first time until a few months ago... at 24...but I never had any problems or needed anything, so it wasn't an issue.

I started at 16. My menstrual cramps were horrible when I was a teenager.
