Couch to 5K Advice
I just finished Week 2 of Couch to 5K last night. I was really struggling to get through the last two running sections. Now I don't know if it was because I was really tired, or took a street that had a little bit of a hill. Anyway I was looking forward to next week and it says it alternates running 90 secs/walking 90secs/running 3 mins/walking 3 mins. If I was struggling to get through the 90 secs this past week do you think I should stick with Week 2 workouts until I get a little stronger or try to do Week 3? TIA.

Re: Couch to 5K Advice
I was right where you are last week. I really struggled on week 2 day 3 and was contemplating doing it again instead of moving on...
I decided I would try w3 d1 and see what happened on Tuesday, and boy was I surprised! I struggled through the first 90 second run, and really pushed to complete the first 3 minute run...but the next 90 second run was CAKE!!!!! I was moving quicker than I ever had, and the "beep, walk now" totally startled me as I wasn't expecting it yet!
Tomorrow is week 3 day 2 (did zumba today- can't do both) and I am excited to see how I do...
I say give it a try!!

Re: Couch to 5K Advice
I agree, I would give it a try! Maybe find a flatter area to run cuz hills do make a big difference (even small ones). But don't be discouraged if you need to repeat a week that's ok...just keep up with it and it WILL get easier!

heyyy...I agree that if you need to repeat a week feel free to do so. I repeated week 3. I also run on a treadmill at the gym. Outdoors is definitely more strenuous. Congratulations and keep up the awsome work you've been doing.

Re: Couch to 5K Advice
Although it is a 9 week program, I actually tweaked and made it a 12 week program by repeating parts. There is NOTHING wrong with repeating a day or two or even a week or two!
I know of one woman who took 6 months to finish it by repeating almost every week. Whatever you have to do.
BTW, running on a flat surface changes EVERYTHING!!!
