Found a trainer for my doggies
So I have 2 pups, the older one is a sweetheart to everyone and the younger one is not - just to people she knows (2 yr old lab). She has VERY bad fear aggression and her fear has made her house training very hard. We have done the best we can with her and gotten her past many issues but we've hit a wall. We needed help. After much research we call up Bark Busters and our 1st appointment was yesterday. I was a mess of nerves leading up to yesterday morning. I was fearing that this man would get here and just find my Bailey girl too much and not take us on. I was actually pleading with her the night before to please give me a "doggies mommys day present" and be receptive.
Well, let me tell you she was!  I wanted to cry, I was so happy. Don't get me wrong we have a lot of work to do but she will get there. Rob our trainer is wonderful, he spent 3 hours with us yeterday and stopped by today for a few minutes to see her and give her some treats and get her used to him. She got aggressive but using what he taught me I was able to calm her down right away. Our next official session isnt for 2 weeks but he is stopping in again on Wednesday. He really loves what he does.
Thank you for letting me get this out. I don't post on this board much but I want to do cartwheels I'm so excited to see a little imporvement with her!!! And I know folks on this board can relate.

That's so great to hear! I'm very happy for you. I hear about training issues a lot and just wish everyone could find the trainer they need to make everyone's lives easier.
What kinds of things are you reinforcing with your dog?

What kinds of things are you reinforcing with your dog?
There is a pretty decent sized list of things that we outlined. At a high level Aggression (inside and outside but that all seems to be fear driven and her need to assert as leader) Once we can identify a way to break through the fear we can complete potty training and progress with walks.
So we are starting with asserting ourselves as the leaders. Learning to Command, correct, and reward.

Excellent! It's something to be proud of when you learn how to be the leader and see progress with your dog. It's much easier to sit back! It sounds like you're in good hands and I'd love to hear how the progress goes.
